Obiekt 279

The Object 279(Obiekt 279) is a Soviet prototype heavy tank developed in the 1950s as a "heavy tank designed for operation under nuclear war."

Equipped with a long-barreled 130 mm tank gun, its massive 60-ton body was driven by a total of four tracks, giving it high mobility, and its fluid-curved body reminiscent of a disc was designed to deflect blast and shock waves from a nuclear explosion, preventing the vehicle from tipping over.

オブイェークト279は「核戦争下での活動を考慮した重戦車」として1950年代に開発されたソビエト連邦の試作重戦車です。

長砲身130 mm戦車砲を搭載した60tの巨体を計4本の履帯で駆動し高い機動力を実現、円盤を思わせる流体曲面の車体は核爆発時の爆風や衝撃波を受け流し車体が横転しないようにしたものでした。

1950年頃のソビエトの工業製品や建築物のデザインに魅せられた人は多い様ですが、

この戦車も一度見たら忘れられないようなインパクトを感じます。初代ガンダムとかに出てきそうな感じ。
