Gerald Brom, known professionally simply as Brom, is an American dark fantasy artist and illustrator born in 1965. Renowned for his "gothic-tribal" aesthetic, he rose to prominence in the late 1980s through his influential work for TSR, where he defined the visual identity of the Dark Sun campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. His career spans iconic contributions to video games (including Diablo, Doom II, and Hearthstone), collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering, and major film productions. Beyond illustration, Brom is a celebrated author, creating richly illustrated novels such as The Child Thief, Krampus: The Yule Lord, and Slewfoot, in which he blends macabre horror with a tragic, elegant beauty.
